(New Orleans, LA – July 6, 2016) The National Football League Physicians Society (NFLPS) applauds New Orleans Saints team physician Misty Suri, MD, M.S. who was selected as Visiting Professor at the 20th meeting of the Minas Gerais Orthopaedic and Traumatology Society in Minas Gerais, Brazil. As a Visiting Professor, Dr. Suri will present recent discoveries in hip arthroscopy and discuss some of his latest research involving the outcomes between athletes and non-athletes after hip arthroscopy.
Misty Suri, M.D., a member of the NFLPS, is a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeon. Dr. Suri currently is a team physician for the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, University of New Orleans (Division I), as well as several high schools in the New Orleans area. He recently was named hip arthroscopy consultant for LSU Athletics.
He is member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and has recently been inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). A member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society; Dr. Suri concentrates his research in the areas of hip arthroscopy, the throwing athlete’s shoulder and elbow, shoulder instability, elbow lateral epicondylitis, and knee ACL surgery and cartilage healing.
Dr. Suri is an Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). He travels to the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Rosemont, Illinois, as well as other learning centers to teach orthopaedic surgeons how to perform arthroscopic procedures, such as hip, shoulder, knee, elbow arthroscopy, and shoulder replacement surgery.
