INDIANAPOLIS – Dr. Walter Lowe, the Texans’ head team physician, is the 2018 winner of the Jerry “Hawk” Rhea Award that’s presented by the Professional Football Athletics Trainer Society.
The PFATS presents the award annually to the NFL’s Most Outstanding Team Physician at a banquet at the scouting combine.
Lowe, who is the chairman and professor of orthopedic surgery at Memorial Herrmann, is also the head team physician for the Rockets and the Houston Cougars.
Lowe has been with the Texans since 2001 and also served in the same capacity with the Oilers.
