The NFL Physicians Society

The NFL Physicians Society (NFLPS) is a professional organization composed of over 190 dedicated physicians representing all 32 NFL teams. United by a shared commitment to excellence, they work collaboratively to address the evolving challenges faced by NFL team physicians.

The NFLPS’ mission is to provide excellence in the medical and surgical care to the athletes in the NFL and to provide direction and support for the athletic trainers in charge of the care for these athletes.

The Team Behind the Team

As the Team Behind the Team, the NFL team physicians prioritize delivering the highest quality of care for players—supporting their health and well-being at every stage. From the training room to the field, player health and safety remains their top priority, and they are proud to care for the athletes every step of the way.

Our Board

The NFL Physicians Society (NFLPS) is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors composed of team physicians from across the NFL. Our leaders bring extensive experience in orthopedic surgery, primary care sports medicine, and internal medicine, and are committed to upholding the highest standards of care for NFL athletes.

Sports Medicine Pipeline

The NFL, NFL Physicians Society (NFLPS) and Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS) are committed to expanding access to sports medicine and launched a program in 2022 to encourage medical students from a variety of backgrounds to consider sports medicine careers.
