What are the most common injuries and medical problems among football players?
Football is a contact sport. Orthopaedic injuries are common among football players, primarily to the knee, foot, ankle, shoulder, neck and back. There is also potential for injuries to different muscles of the body such as hamstrings, quads, calves and the abdominal musculatures that can lead to a sports hernia. Other injuries include concussions, pulmonary contusions, broken ribs, abdominal injuries, splenic lacerations and kidney injuries.
